Auto Accident Rt. 219

  Sunday December 30th: At 0828hrs the BVFD alerted for a Auto Accident on Rt. 219 1 mile South of the Jerome exit. District 631.  Rescue 1 hit the street with 5. Crew arrived and assisted with traffic. The rescue was released by 631 command and placed in service  at 0852hrs.  605-84

Reported Kitchen Fire in the Township

  Thursday December 27th: At 1723hrs the box dropped for a Kitchen Fire at 114
AJ Lane in Jenner Twp. Engine 2 and Tanker 4 hit the street with 6. Dispatch advised they recieved a 2nd call from the homeowner advising fire was out. Engine 2 held the box to the Engine and Tanker. Engine 2 arrived with normal conditions. Crew found negative extension. Command placed the box in service at 17:39.  605-82

Reported Vehicle Fire on 219

  Monday December 24th: Christmas Eve at 1835hrs the BVFD was alerted for a Vehicle Fire on Rt. 219 1 mile North of the exit. Rescue 1 and Engine 2 checked up with 6. The rescue arrived to find 1 vehicle off the roadway that struck a deer with steam coming from the engine compartment. Crews checked for fluids and cleared the scene at 1908hrs.   605-81

Auto Accident Penn Ave

  Saturday December 22nd: Dispatched for a Vehicle into Tree on Penn Ave North of the Borough. Rescue 1 and Ambul 6 responded. EMS transported 1 patient to Conemaugh Hospital. The Rescue was placed in service at 07:50.   605-80

Auto Accident Rt 219

  Friday December 21st: The BVFD was alerted for a Single Vehicle Accident on Rt 219 NB just North of the Rt. 30 exit. Rescue 1(FF Shumaker) and Ambul 5 responded. Crews arrived to find 1 vehicle off the roadway. EMS transported 1 patient to Conemaugh Hospital. The Rescue was placed in service at 19:52hrs.  605-79

Auto Accident with Reported Entrapment

  Wednesday December 19th: At 1503hrs the BVFD was alerted for a Auto Accident with Entrapment at the inersection of Rt. 219 and Rt. 30. Rescue 1(LT Revak) Brush 3(FF Ohler)Ambul 6 & 5 checked up with 11. Dispatched advised there was a coal truck vs truck and the coal truck was over turned. EMS arrived with the update of negative entrapment and the coal truck was not rolled over. Rescue crew secured the auto and handled the fluids. EMS transported 1 patient to Conemaugh Hospital. The rescue crew handled traffic until towing service removed the vehicle. Command placed the incident in service at 1635hrs.   605-78

         

Chimney Fire in Gray

  Saturday December 15th: 2hrs after the BVFD was placed in service from the earlier house fire the house bells dropped once again for a Chimney Fire at 121 W 3rd St. Gray. District 606. Engine 2(FF Snyder) hit the street with 5. Crew arrived and checked for extension with the TIC, readings were negative.  Engine 2 was placed in service at 19:37hrs.     605-76

BVFD works 2nd Due House Fire

  Saturday December 15th: In the afternoon just before 1400hrs the BVFD was alerted for a House Fire at 269 Jerome Ave, Jerome. District 631. Engine 1(FF Snyder)  Engine 2 (Asst. Revak) and Tanker 4(FF Shumaker) checked up with a total of 11. Crews arrived to find the Bravo side of the structure well off. Crews quickly went to work extuinguishing the fire. Once the fire was ruled under control extensive overhaul operations were conducted. The BVFD was placed in service at  1600hrs.      605-75

Debris on Rt. 30

  Friday December 7th: The BVFD was alerted for Debris on the roadway on Rt. 30 East of Rt. 219. Rescue 1(Asst. Sopich) hit the street with 5. The Rescue arrived but found the debris to be off the roadway. The Rescue was placed in service.   605-74

Auto Accident on Rt. 30

  Monday December 10th: This morning just before 0900hrs the BVFD was alerted for a single vehicle Auto Accident on Rt. 30 just West of Horner Church Rd. Rescue 1(LT Revak) and Ambul 5 hit the street with 7. Crew arrived on scene to find a single vehicle off the roadway with minor front end damage. EMS handled the refusal and the Rescue was placed in service by Command.  605-75

BVFD alerted for the 2nd time of the day

  Wednesday December 5th: The BVFD was alerted for the 2nd time of the day this time being for a Chimney Fire in the 1st Due at 5151 Front St. Jenners. Engine 2(Asst. Sopich) and the Rescue(Chief Bendick) hit the street with 8 vollys. Crews arrived laddered the building, checked the flue, and extuinguished the fire with dry powder. The BVFD was placed in service 2230hrs.   605-73

Animal Rescue in the Boro

  Wednesday December 5th: The BVFD was alerted for a Animal Rescue at 416 Main St. in the Boro. Rescue 1(FF M. Shumaker) went on the air with 3. Crew arrived to find a dog with its leg wedged in a radiator. Crew had the dog extricated within 15 minutes. The Rescue was placed in service at 1509hrs.   605-72

2nd Due Chimney Fire

  Sunday November 25th: The BVFD was alerted for a Chimney Fire at 111 W 2nd St in Grey (District 606). Engine 2(Asst Sopich) hit the street fully staffed. Engine 2 arrived and stood by. Command called for Truck 601-8 due to there being no access to chimney. The Engine was placed in service at 1843hrs.   605-71

Auto Accident Rt 219 North Bound

  Tuesday November 27th: at 1337hrs the BVFD was alerted for a Vehicle vs Deer on Rt. 219 NB at the Rt 30 overpass. Rescue 1(LT Revak) and Ambul 6 responded with 7. Units arrived to find 1 vehicle off the roadway with fluids leaking. Rescue crew handled the fluids. Driver of the vehicle was uninjured. The Rescue was placed in service at 1404hrs.   605-72

                                             

2nd Due Box

  Friday November 23rd: In the early morning the BVFD was alerted for a Structure Fire at 140 Mountain Rd. in Jenner Twp. Rescue 1(LT Revak), Engine 2(Chief Bendick) and Tanker 4(FF Snyder) hit the street with a total of 9. Rescue 1 arrived on the scene with smoke showing. Rescue crew made entry to find the fire in the ceiling around the flue  in a back bedroom. Crew quickly went to work pulling the ceiling and extuinguishing the fire. Engine 2 crew went to the roof to vent. Crews had the fire under control in approximately 20 minutes. The BVFD was placed in service at 0536hrs.  605-70

                           

Vehicle into Tree on Penn Ave

  Friday November 23rd: at 1617hrs the BVFD was alerted to assist Acosta FD with a Single Vehicle into a Tree in front of 6320 Penn Ave in Jenner Twp. Rescue 1(Asst. Sopich), Ambul 6 responded with 6. R608 arrived reporting negative entrapment,no injuries, and that the driver fled the scene. The Rescue arrived and was later released by Command. The BVFD was placed in service at 1637hrs.  605-71

Rescue runs Commercial Vehicle Accident with Confinement

  Friday November 16th: The BVFD was alerted for a Commercial Vehicle Accident eith Entrapment in front of 2494 Lincoln Hwy. Rescue 1(LT Revak) hit the road with 4. The Rescue arrived to find 1 Coal Truck on its side with the driver confined. Crews quickly went to work taking out the windshield. Crews had the patient extricated within 10 minutes. Patient was transported to Conemaugh Hospital. Rescue crew shut down Lincoln Hwy for about 2 hours until the trucking company removed the coal from the roadway. The Rescue was placed in service at 1435hrs.   605-69

                                             

Rescue 1 and Brush 3 run Brush Fire

  Thursday November 15th: This Afternoon the BVFD was alerted for a Brush Fire on Mastillo Rd. in Jenner Twp. The Rescue and Brush 3 hit the street with 6. Crews arrived to find a corn field on fire. Crews immediately went to work containing and extuinguishing the fire. Approximately 4-5 acres burned. The BVFD were placed in service at 1608hrs.   605-68

Smoke Investigation on Rt 30

  Thursday November 8th: The BVFD was dispatched for a Smoke Investigation on Rt. 30 west of Main St. Engine 2 went on the air and arrived to find the smoke to be coming from a outdoor furnace. Engine 2 was placed in service.   605-67

2nd Smoke Investigation in 3 days

  Saturday November 10th: At 2038hrs the BVFD was alerted for the  2nd Smoke Investigation in 2 days at 972 Boswell Heights, Boswell Boro. Engine 2 hit the street fully staffed. Engine crew arrived and after investigation the source came from a neighbor burning behind the apartment. Engine 2 placed all units in service.  605-68

Cancelled on AFA

  Monday November 5th: The BVFD was alerted at 1800hrs for a Automatic Fire Alarm, 170 Phillips St Jerome. District 631. Engine 2 (Engineer Bendick) hit the street with 4.  E631 arrived and all units were cancelled shortly after by Deputy 631. Engine 2 was placed in service.   605-66

Auto Accident with Reported Entrapment

  Monday October 22nd:  Yesterday morning the BVFD was alerted for an Auto Accident with Entrapment on Front St. in Jenners. Rescue 1(LT Revak) Brush 3(FF Smith) and Ambul 5 hit the street with 8. The Rescue arrived to find a single vehicle on its roof, 1 occupant out of the vehicle, and no entrapment. Rescue crew secured the auto and handled the debris sweep. EMS transported 1 patient to Conemaugh Hospital with Medic 950. The Rescue was placed in service at 0932hrs.   605-65

  Sunday September 14th: The BVFD was alerted at 2315hrs to assist Acosta with a single vehicle accident on Penn Ave just South of Twin Hills Rd. in Jenner Twp. Prior to responding dispatch cancelled all units.  605-64

Tree Down on Pilltown Rd

  Saturday September 8th: At 1356hrs the BVFD was alerted for a Tree Down on Pilltown Rd. Rescue 1(LT Revak) and Ambul 5 responded with 7. The Rescue Crew cut and removed the tree from the roadway. The BVFD was placed in service.   605-63

Zoo Crew due for the Box in Stoystown

  Wednesday August 28th: Just before lunch time the BVFD was alerted for a House Fire with reported entrapment on Forbes Rd in Stoystown. Rescue 1(LT Revak), Brush 3(FF Smith) hit the street with minutes after dispatch. Rescue 1 got the assignment to tag the plug at Main St. and Walnut, Crew laid 1000ft of LDH to the scene and the lay was picked up by E604-1 with an additional 500ft. Rescue crew went to work with an aggresive interior attack. Once the fire was under control, overhaul operations were conducted. The Zoo Crew worked on the scene for about 5hrs before the BVFD was placed in service.   605-62

1st Due Smoke in the Structure

  Tuesday August 7th: Just before Midnight communications sent out the dispatch for a Smoke in the Structure at 619 Center St. in the Borough. Engine 2(Asst. Sopich), Tanker 4(FF Snyder) and Ambul 5 checked up with 10. Engine 2 arrived to find smoke in the structure. After investigation crews found a small fire underneath the trailer which was extuinguished with a Can.  Command cancelled all units.  Crews ventilated the structure with PPV. PSP Fire Marshall was notified. The BVFD was placed in service at 0050hrs.  605-61

Reported Vehicle/Pedestrian Accident

  Monday August 6th: At 2026hrs the BVFD was alerted for a Vehicle Pedestrian accident on Center St. in the Borough. Ambul 5 responded and arrived and advised dispatch that there was no vehicle involved to cancell all fire units.   605-60

Bells Ringing in the 31 Box

  Monday August 6th: At 1420hrs the BVFD was alerted to assist Jerome FD with  a Automatic Fire Alarm at 207 Colonial Dr, Davidsville. Engine 2(FF Shumaker) checked up with 4. Engine 2 got the assignment to stage at the plug on Walnut St. 631 Command later released all units. Engine 2 was placed in service at 1450hrs.   605-59

Tree Down

  Saturday August 4th: Dispatched for a Tree Down on Trading Post Rd. in Jenner Twp. Rescue 1 handled the incident and was in service in a hour.  605-58

Early Morning Auto Accident

  Thursday August 2nd: At 0330hrs the "Zoo Crew" was alerted for a Auto Accident in front of 5137 Front St. in Jenners. Rescue 1(Engineer Bendick) and Ambul 5 checked up with 7. Ambul 5 arrived with the update of a single vehicle into a utility pole and negative entrapment. The Rescue arrived secured the auto, checked for fluids, and handled the traffic. The driver of the vehicle refused EMS and was taken into custody by PSP. Ambul 5 was placed in service. The Rescue remained on the scene until Penelec arrived. Command placed the Rescue in service at 0510hrs.  605-57

                                

Odor of Gas in the Residence

  Friday July 20th: At 2055hrs the communications sent out the alert of an Odor of Gas in the Residence at 991 Boswell Hts. Engine 2(FF Shumaker) and Ambul 5 hit the street with 6. Engine 2 arrived checked the residence and nothing was found and Command placed the box in service.   605-56 

Tree Down on Pilltown Rd

  Thursday July 19th: At 16:20hrs the BVFD was dispatched for the 3rd time of the day this time for a tree down on Pilltown Rd in Jenner Twp. Rescue 1(LT Revak) responded with 5. The Rescue arrived to find a large tree blocking both lanes of traffic. The Rescue crew removed the tree and were placed in service at 17:09hrs.   605-55

                                           

2nd Crash of the day on Rt 219

  Thursday July 19th:  At 1308hrs this afternoon the BVFD was alerted for a single vehicle that rolled over multiple times with injury on Rt. 219 SB South of Rt 30. Rescue 1(LT Revak) and Ambul 6 responded with 5. Med Star 1 was placed on standby. Crews arrived to find 1 vehicle blocking 1 lane of traffic. The Rescue shut down Rt 219 until EMS had patient extricated and then opened it to 1 lane. Rescue crew secured the auto and handled the debris sweep. EMS transported 1 patient to Conemaugh Hospital. Rescue 1 was placed in service at 1427hrs.   605-54

                            

Overturned Tri Axle on Rt. 219

  Thursday July 19th: At 0358hrs the BVFD was alerted for a Overturned Tri Axle on Rt. 219 at the Quemahoning Bridge. Rescue 1(Asst Sopich), Engine 2(Chief Bendick) and Ambul 6 hit the street with a total 9. Crews arrived to find a fully loaded coal truck on its side the driver was self extricated prior to arrival. Due to the truck being fully loaded the BVFD was on scene for several hours until Penn Dot and the trucking company removed the coal from the roadway. Flooded Basement in Jenners

  Wednesday July 18th: At 16:14hrs the BVFD was dispatched for a Flooded Basement at 5149 Front St in Jenners. Engine 2 handled the incident and was in service at 17:00hrs.   605-52

Zoo Crew runs late night AFA

  Sunday July 15th: At 2246hrs the BVFD was alerted to assist Jerome VFD with a Automatic Fire Alarm at 170 Phillips St. Jerome. Country Manor Living. Engine 2(LT Revak), Engine 1(Asst Sopich) went on the air for the assignment with 10. Engine 2 got the orders to standby at the plug on Coal Ave at Keim St. 631 Command advised there was a small fire in the laundry room and requested E-2 and E-1 to the scene to assist with ventilation. The BVFD was placed in service at 2335hrs.  605-51

 Friday July 13th: The BVFD was alerted for a Wood Pile on fire at 533 Rose Rd. in Jenner Twp. Rescue 1 and Brush 3 handled the incident. Units were placed in service at 1759hrs.   605-50

  Thursday July 12th: Before Midnight the BVFD was alerted for a Auto Accident on Rt. 219 South of Rt 30 in the North Lane. Rescue 1(Asst Sopich) and Ambul 5 responded with 7. EMS arrived to find a disabled vehicle. The BVFD was placed in service at 23:30hrs.   605-49

Rt. 30 Auto Accident

  Thursday July 12th: Just before 0900hrs communications sent out the dispatch for a Single Vehicle into the woods Rt. 30 East of Rt. 219. Rescue 1(FF Snyder) and Ambul 6 hit the street with 7. Ambul 6 arrived with the update of no injuries. Medic 950 was cancelled. Ambul 6 and Medic 902 handled the refusal. The Rescue remained on the scene until the auto was removed by towing service. The BVFD was placed in service at 0949hrs.   605-48

Water Rescue assisting Jerome

  Sunday July 8th: The BVFD was alerted to assist Jerome with a Water Rescue on the Quemahoning Dam near the spillway. Brush 3 with Boat 7 (Chief Bendick)  responded. Dispatch advised that someone from 605 was on scene with with the victim. Brush 3 staged at the boat launch, 631-4 was launched into the water. Patient was uninjured and refused EMS. 631 Command placed units in service at 16:46hrs.  605-47

4th of July Storm Sends BVFD on 2

  Wednesday July 4th: At 19:23hrs the BVFD was alerted for a Tree Down due to a Lightning Strike on Morris Ave at Quemahoning St. Brush 3 and Rescue 1 handled the incident.

 The 2nd Tree Down was on Alwine Rd. in Jenner Twp. Engine 2 handled the incident. The BVFD was placed in service at 20:00hrs.   605-45, 605-46

Tanker 4 heads North for the 2nd time in 4 days

   Wednesday June 27th: At 1400hrs Tanker 4 special requested to assist Jerome Vfd with a Commercial Vehicle Fire on Rt 219 South of Jerome. Tanker 4 (FF Shumaker) went on the air with 2. The Tanker arrived and Command advised they had knockdown. Tanker 4 filled E631 and was placed in service.    605-44

                                      

Wires Down on Woodstown Hwy

  Tuesday June 26th: At 19:34 the BVFD was dispatched for Wires Down on Woodstown Hwy. Brush 3(FF Shumaker) responded with 2. Crew arrived to find a pole from a recent accident. Crews notified verizon and Brush 3 was in service at 20:26hrs.   605-43

3 Buildings off in the Borough

  Monday June 25th: Just before Midnight the house bells dropped for a Working Building Fire on the 200 block of Main St in the Borough. Engine 2 (LT Revak) Rescue 1 (Captain Huzsek) and Tanker 4 (Engineer Bendick) checked up. Engine 2 arrived to find 3 buildings off and endangering other close by structures. A 2nd alarm was then requested by Command. The Rescue tagged the plug and dropped 300FT of LDH to supply Engine 2. Crews went to work trying to control the fire and had the fire under control in about a hour. Crews overhauled and checked for extension for several hours before Command released units. PSP Fire Marshal was requested to investigate. The BVFD was placed in service in a little over 4hrs. 1st Alarm (Stoystown, Jennerstown, Jerome, and Richland Twp) 2nd Alarm (Acosta, Sipesville, and Hooversville). Good Job to all who worked the incident!   605-42

             

Tire Fire in the 2nd Due

  Friday June 22nd: Just before dinner time Tanker 4 was requested to assist Jerome with a Tire Fire at Sugar Maple Ave in Conemaugh Twp. Tanker 4 responded and assisted on scene. The Tanker was placed in service at 18:07hrs . 605-41

Assist EMS on Rt 30

  Saturday June 23rd: Around lunch time the BVFD was alerted for a Motorcycle Accident on Rt 30 in the area of Horner Church Rd. Ambul 5 and Rescue 1 checked up with 7. Ambul 5 arrived and found out that this was not a accident. Patient became ill on his motorcycle. EMS transported and the Rescue was placed in service.    605-40

Reported House Fire in the 2nd Due

  Saturday June 16th: At 1030hrs the Zoo Crew was alerted for a House Fire at 1840 Penn Ave in Jerome. Engine 2 (LT Revak) hit the street with 5. While enroute Command 631 advised the fire was out to cancell all units. The Engine was placed in service shortly after.  605-39

Vehicle Fire on 219

  Friday June 15th: Just before 2300hrs the BVFD was dispatched for a Vehicle Fire on Rt 219 at MP 42. Rescue 1 (Asst Sopich) hit the street with 4. FF Jordan was in the area and arrived to find the fire out.  Rescue 1 was placed in service at 23:26hrs.    605-38

The Rescue handles Auto Accident in the Twp

   Tuesday June 12th:  At 0800hrs this morning the BVFD was alerted for a single vehicle into a utility pole with injuries in front of 1745 Woodstown Hwy. Rescue 1 (LT Revak) and Ambul 5 Hit the street with 8. The Rescue arrived to find 1 vehicle blocking 1 lane of traffic with a utility pole sheared. Rescue crew secured the auto and checked for fluids. EMS transported 1 to Conemaugh Hospital. Command Placed the Rescue in service in little over an hour.  605-37

                                  

Rekindle on Penn Ave

 Sunday June 3rd:  In the early morning hours  the BVFD was once again put to work at the same house from the earlier house fire on Penn Ave for a Rekindle. Rescue 1 hit the street with 5. The Rescue arrived to find the house well off. The box alarm was once again dropped. The crews worked through the wee hours of the morning to contain the fire. Tankers were requested from Sipesville. Master stream operations from Truck 3-1 were set up to prepare for an interior attack. All units were placed in service at 05:52hrs. Jerome, Jennerstown, Acosta, Sipesville, and Richland Twp assisted. The BVFD would like to thank all the Departments that worked the incident.   605-36

                                  

Zoo Crew catches work in the 1st Due

 Saturday June 2nd: Just before 8pm the box alarm dropped for a House Fire at 2776 Penn Ave in Jenner Twp. Engine 2, Rescue 1 and Tanker 4 hit the street within minutes with 12. Engine 2 arrived giving the update of heavy smoke showing. Engine crew went to work in the fire room on division 1. Crews from the RTFD were on assisgned to check for extension and to ventilate division 2. With quick work from all the crews on scene the fire was knocked down within 20 minutes. Crews went to work ventilating and a extensive overhaul of the house. The State Police Fire Marshall was called to investigate. Engine 2 and Tanker 4 were placed in service at 21:47hrs. The Rescue remained on the scene to assist the Fire Marshall and was placed in service at 01:06hrs.  605-35

                                  

Auto Accident on Main St

  Tuesday May 29th: at 22:36 the BVFD was alerted for a single vehicle into a tree on Main St in the Borough. Rescue 1(LT Revak) and Ambul 5 checked up with 8. Units arrived to find 1 vehicle off the roadway in the woods. Driver of the vehicle was self ectricated and uninjured. Rescue crew secured the auto and provided traffic. Command placed units in service at 23:28hrs.  605-34

                                       

Zoo Crew runs 1st Due Box

  Friday May 25th: At 22:36hrs the box dropped for a Appliance Fire at 619 Kircher Place in the Borough. Engine 2 (FF Shumaker) and Rescue 1 (Chief Bendick)  hit the street minutes after dispatched with 12 vollys. Engine 2 arrived reporting smoke showing. Engine Crew made entry and got a quick knock on the fire which was contained to the dryer. Command cancelled all incoming units. Crew checked for extension and ventilated the structure with PPV. Command placed the box in service at 23:19hrs.   605-33

Search ends with Success

  Monday May 21st:  The BVFD was alerted at 03:12hrs for a search detail on the on the Quemahoning Creek. A command post was setup at the firehouse. A PSP helicopter was placed in the air and was given the cordinates of the Quemahoning Creek. The PSP Helicopter found a fire along the river bank, and notified crews of the cordinates. PSP helicopter landed and was cordinating with crews of where the fire was along the river bank, Command advised all units that 1 of the missing persons fathers found the 3 people. They were brought to safety, and were uninjured. Thanks to everyone who assisted. The BVFD was placed in service at 06:21hrs.    605-32

Zoo Crew runs early morning Auto Accident

  Friday May 11th: At 03:47hrs the BVFD was alerted for a Auto Accident on Penn Ave at Golf Course Rd in Jenner Twp. Rescue 1(LT Revak), Ambul 5 and 6 hit the street with 11 vollys. Ambul 5 arrived and gave the update of a single vehicle into a tree with 1 occupant outside of the vehicle. Rescue crew arrived secured the auto and checked for fluids. Rescue 608 assisted with traffic. Patient refused treatment from EMS and was taken into custody by PSP. The Rescue Crew handled the debri and fluid clean up. Crew remained on the scene until towing service removed vehicle. Command placed all units in service at 04:29hrs.  605-31

           

Early Morning Brush Fire in the Township

  Thursday May 3rd: The BVFD was alerted at 06:05hrs for a brush fire endangering a shed on Keyser Rd at Rolling Hill Rd. The Rescue and Brush responded with 5. Crews arrived to find a Control Burn. The BVFD was placed in service at 06:19hrs.  605-30

Res1cue runs Commercial Vehicle and Flue Fire in the Boro

  Friday April 27th: At 15:08 the BVFD was dispatched for a Commercial Vehicle fire on Ohio St in the Magistrate parking lot. Rescue 1(LT Revak) hit the street with 5. The Rescue arrived and advised dispatch ther was nothing found. While awaiting on dispatch to place a call back to the caller a bystander stopped the Rescue and advised them of a Flue Fire at 1101 Atkinson Way. The Rescue notified dispatch of the incident and advised to hold the box to just 605. Engine 2 (Engineer Bendick) also worked he incident. Crew arrived to approximately 2ft flames coming from the flue. Crew notfied the homeowner, and laddered the Delta side of the structure to access the chimney. Crew had the homeowner extuinguish the fire in the wood burner. Crew did a chimney sweep, and used dry powder  to extuinguish the fire. Crew checked for extension in the strucutre with the TIC (Thermal Imager Camera) and was negative. The homeowner was told to have his chimney cleaned and fixed. The Zoo Crew was placed in service at 15:57.   605-28   605-29

    

Engine and Rescue run Smoke in the Structure

  Thursday April 26th: At 20:34hrs the "Zoo Crew" was alerted for Smoke in the Structure at 1709 Pitt St. in Jennerstown Boro. Rescue 1(LT Revak) Engine 2(Chief Bendick) went on the air with a total of 9. The Rescue arrived and crew assisted 606 crew. Engine 2 was cancelled enroute. Rescue 1 was released shortly after. The BVFD was placed in service at 20:50hrs.  605-27

Basement Fire in the 614 Box

  Saturday April 21st:  At 18:16hrs the "Zoo Crew" was alerted for a Basement Fire at 310 Franklin St. in Hooversville Borough. Rescue 1 (LT Revak) and Ambul 5 went on the air for the assignment with 7. Enroute  614 Command advised crews they had knockdown. Rescue 1 got the orders to stage on Barn St. The Rescue was released shortly after and placed in service.   605-26

Auto Accident on 219 at the Quemahoning Bridges

  Wednesday April 11th: At 15:44 Communications put out the dispatch of an Auto Accident on Rt 219 at the Quemahoning Bridges. Rescue 1(FF Shumaker) and Ambul 5 checked up with 6.  Medic 957 came across the accident and advised negative entrapment all occupants were out of the vehicle. Crews arrived to find 1 vehicle into a bank in the median with severe front end damage.  EMS handled the refusals. The Rescue provided traffic. The Rescue was in servce at 17:47hrs.   605-25

             

Vehicle into Structure in Jenner Twp

  Saturday April 7th: At 04:44hrs the BVFD was alerted for a vehicle into a structure on 2 Mile Run Rd. in Jenner Twp. Rescue 1 (Engineer Bendick),  Ambul 5 and 6 responded with a total of 9. Crews arrived to find a vehicle sitting along 2 Mile Run Rd with moderate damage. Crew found moderate damage to the house where the truck struck it. Patient is unijnured and refusing treatment from EMS. The driver of the pick up was taken into custody by PSP. Crew handled the fluids and debri sweep. The Rescue was placed in service at 06:31hrs.   605-24

                    

Zoo Crew runs Brush Fire in Gray

 Thursday April 5th: Just before 15:00hrs today communications sent out the dispatch to assist 606 (Jennerstown) with a brush fire on Main St in Gray. Brush 3 (LT Revak), Rescue 1(FF Ryniak), and Tanker 4 ( Engineer Bendick) checked up with 6. Brush 3 arrived and the brush crew went to work extinguishing the fire around the perimeter. The Tanker and Rescue were staged. Brush crew had knock down within minutes. Approximately 1/4 of an acre burned. The BVFD was placed in service at 15:14hrs.   605-23

Rollover on Rt. 219 South

  Sunday April 1st: At 21:50hrs the BVFD was alerted for a single vehicle rollover on Rt. 219 3 miles South of the Rt. 30 exit. Rescue 1 and Ambul 5 responded and arrived to find 1 vehicle rolled over in the median. The driver was self extricated prior to arrival and was transported by EMS to Somerset Hospital. The Rescue remained on the scene until towing service removed vehicle. The Rescue was placed in service at 22:51hrs.   605-22

Auto Accident on Rt. 219

  Saturday March 24th: At 14:32hrs communications sent out the alert for 1 vehicle rolled over on Rt. 219 North of Rt. 30 in the South Bound lane. Rescue 1 (FF Shumaker) and Ambul 5 (Medic Jordan) hit the street with 5. Crews arrived to find 1 vehicle off the roadway on its wheels. Driver of the vehicle left the scene. The BVFD was released by PSP and placed in service at 15:00hrs.    605-21

  Friday March 23rd: At 16:02hrs the BVFD was alerted for a Auto Accident on the Rt. 219 on ramp. Rescue 1 and Ambul 5 responded and arrived to find 1 vehicle sitting on the guard rail. 1 patient was transported by EMS to Conemaugh Hospital. Rescue crew handled the leaking fluids and traffic. The Rescue was placed in service at 17:19hrs.    605-20

Brush and Tanker head North

 Wednesday March 14th:  At 14:05 dispatch sent out the alert special request for Brush 3 and Tanker 4 on a Brush Fire at 415 Country Club Rd. in Conemaugh Twp. District 610. Brush 3(FF Shumaker) and Tanker 4(Engineer Bendick) hit the street with 4. Crews arrived and brush 3 was needed. Tanker supplied E610. The BVFD was placed in service at 15:18hrs.  605-19

Rescue runs Auto Accident on 219

  Tuesday March 13th: At 17:10 the BVFD was alerted for a Auto Accident involving 1 vehicle on 219 North of Rt. 30 in the South Bound Lane. Rescue 1(Chief Bendick) and Ambul 5 (Tech Shumaker) went on the air with 6. Units arrived to find 1 vehicle blocking 1 lane of traffic with moderate front end damage. Rescue crew handled the leaking fluids, traffic, and the debris sweep. Ambul 5 handled the refusal. The BVFD was placed in service at 18:10hrs.   605-18

                                          

Physical Rescue in the Borough

  Thursday March 8th: Just before lunch time the BVFD was dispatched for a man pinned under tree at 715 Main St. in the Borough. Rescue 1(LT Revak) went on the air with 4. The Rescue arrived to find a guy stuck up in the tree with his foot pinned under a large branch. 605 Chief (Bendick) arrived and contacted Penn Dot for a front loader to pick up the branch. Penn Dot arrived within minutes lifted the branch, and the patient was placed into the bucket of the front end loader and lowered to the ground where he was then checked out by EMS. Patient refused treatment and the BVFD was placed in service at 11:51hrs.  605-17

Smell of Wires Burning at Lindas Dance Studio

  Monday February 27th: At 07:35hrs The BVFD was alerted for a Smell of Wires Burning on Main St in the Borough at Lindas Dance Studio. The Rescue(Chief Bendick) went on the air with 5. The Rescue arrived and found the source to be coming from the fuse box. Crews checked for extension with the TIC and nothing was found. The Rescue was placed in service at 08:34hrs.  605-16

Auto Accident Over Embankment on 219

  Thursday February 23rd: At 05:44hrs the BVFD was put to work on a Single Vehicle over the Embankment on Rt. 219 North. Rescue 1(Chief Bendick) responded with 4. The Rescue arrived to find 1 over the embankment. Crew stabilized the vehicle and assisted with patient care. The Rescue was placed in service at 06:43hrs.   605-15

  Monday February 20th: At 11:36hrs the house bells dropped for an Electrical Fire at 105 R Lower Rd in Reading Mines. Rescue 1 (LT Revak) hit the Street with 5. Medic 902 arrived reporting nothing showing. E604-1 arrived holding the box to 604 and 603 cancelling all other units. The Rescue was then placed in service.  605-14

Snow Storm puts BVFD to work

  Saturday February 4th: The 2nd came in at 15:59hrs for a Vehicle on its roof on Penn Ave North of the Borough. Rescue 1 and Amb 6 checked up. Crews arrived to find the crash to be in district 631. Crew assisted with traffic. The driver fled the scene and was later taken into custody by Jennerstown PD. The BVFD was placed in service at 18:30hrs.   605-13

  Saturday February 4th: At 13:25 the BVFD was alerted for an Auto Accident on Rt. 219 North at the Quemahoning Bridges in Jenner Twp. Rescue 1 responded and arrived to find that the vehicle fled the scene. The Rescue was placed in service shortly after.   605-12

Rescue handles Dumpster Fire in the Borough

  Monday January 30th: At 19:36hrs the BVFD was dispatched for a Dumpster Fire in the parking lot of Fatboys Saloon. Rescue 1(Asst Sopich) checked up with 5. Crew arrived to find the dumpster well involved. Crew had the fire extuinguished within minutes. The Rescue was placed in service at 20:06hrs.  605-11

Fluids Leaking from a vehicle as a result of an Auto Accident

  Monday January 30th: At 02:16hrs the BVFD was alerted for fluid leaking from a vehicle as a result of an Auto Accident on Rt. 219 just North of Rt. 30. Rescue 1(FF Smith) responded. The Rescue arrived and handled the leaking fluids. Rescue 1 was placed in service at 03:02hrs.  605-10

‎  Sunday January 29th: At 16:43hrs the BVFD was alerted for an Auto Accident on Penn Ave South of Jerome. Rescue 1(Asst Sopich) checked up with 3. The Rescue arrived to find 1 vehicle on its side. Wagon and Tanker run Garage Fire assisting Jerome

 Friday January 27th: At 19:24hrs the house bells dropped for a Garage Fire at 2767 Jerome Hill Rd in Conemaugh Twp District 631. Engine 2(FF Snyder) and Tanker 4(FF Ash) checked up with a total 8 vollys. Engine 2 arrived and got the assisgment to supply E-631. Engine crew assisted with fire suppresion and overhaul. The BVFD worked the incident for over an hour before being placed in service.  605-08

                                    

BVFD runs late night Auto Accident

  Thursday January 19th: Just before Midnight the BVFD was alerted for an Auto Accident on Penn Ave in front of Total Mobility. Ambul 6(Revak) and Rescue 1(Asst Sopich) checked up with 7. Ambul 6 arrived to find Pole and Wires down and 1 Vehicle in a ditch approximately 30 yards off the roadway. Patient refused EMS. Crew disconnected all power to the car and handled the traffic. PSP assisted. The BVFD was placed in service at 00:55hrs. 605-07

  Wednesday January 18th: At 12:20hrs the BVFD was dispatched for a Automatic Fire Alarm at North Star High School. Prior to responding communications advised that they recieved a 2nd call from the alarm company reporting false alarm.   605-06

Rescue 1 requsted for Debris on the Roadway

   Monday January 16th: At 09:10hrs The Rescue was requested by Ambul 6(Jordan) for debris on the roadway as a result of an auto accident on Alwine Rd. in front of BJ Maurer Ford. Rescue 1(Capt Huzsek) went on the air with 3. Crew arrived handled the leaking fluids and the debris sweep. The Rescue was placed in service at 09:29hrs.   605-05

  Friday January 13th: At 16:37hrs The BVFD was dispatched for a Tree and Wires down on Green Bridge Rd in Jenner Twp. Rescue 1(LT Revak) responded with 5. The Rescue arrived and crew cut and removed tree from roadway. The phone line was not damaged the Rescue was placed in service at 17:00hrs.  605-04

Special call for Tanker 4

 Thursday January 5th: At 00:53hrs the BVFD was alerted special call for Tanker 4 to assist Conemaugh Twp (Sta. 610) with a Flue Fire at 1694 Soap Hollow Rd. Tanker 4 (FF Shumaker) was on the road immediately after dispatch. Tanker 4 was cancelled by E610-5. The Tanker was placed in service at 01:05hrs.  605-03

The BVFD attempt to Rescue trapped Swan

 Wednesday January 4th: The BVFD was contacted by the Owners of Green Gables one of there Swans were trapped in the ice. Brush 3 (FF. Shumaker) responded. Crew suited up and went out on the ice to retrieve the swan but the swan had died by the time crew had got to it. Crew was in service at 20:40hrs.  605-02

Ambul 6 arrived to find 1 person deceased. Rescue crew handled the leaking fluids from the ATV and the traffic. Crews were assisted by PSP and Somerset County Corner.
